If you’ve been waiting for the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet to receive the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, you’ve only got a few months to go. The Android 4.0 update for this device is officially scheduled for May 2012.
Big features you’ll be treated to include face recognition, voice input, and a faster web browser. The face recognition feature, or Face Unlock, is a way of keeping your tablet locked against anyone who isn’t you. Using a front-facing camera, your tablet can recognize your face and only unlock when it “sees” it. This is optional, and can be turned off within the device’s settings.
Voice Input is another add on that comes with the ICS update. Your device can take down your words as you speak them, a handy option for texting. Any words that weren’t exceptionally clear will be underlined, for easy editing when you return to the screen.
While the web browser does have better speed, that’s not the only improvement. You can save web pages to be visited later on, even when you are without internet access.
The Android 4.0 upgrade will be coming over the air this May.
